Tour of facilities (grading, offline/online rooms etc)
Meet the team (Reception, Runners)
Run through responsibilities (coffee, food, running etc.)
Lunch with Mckenzie (Edit Assistant) & shown the whole production process at Halo.
Afternoon same as morning
Day 2 - 10am to 4pm
Morning: Coffee, breakfast, cleaning etc.
Afternoon: Sit and talk with sound tech and assistants (Tierny and Ben) about post-production workflow - Setting up Pro Tools sessions, sound libraries etc.
Studio sit-in was planned but engineer was too busy. Tierny prepped VO (Voice-Over) session for the next day.
Day 3 - 10am to 4pm
Morning: Coffee, breakfast, cleaning etc.
Afternoon: Studio 5 sit-in - Freegard (Film) dialogue pre-mix. Reel 3 and 4.
Predominately cleaning voice-over vocals.
Fabfilter EQ, De-Essing, De-noising - Automation and resonance control.
Sound Edit assistant set up the tracks, buses and some effects for mix engineer to start working.
Engineer (Son) gave advice on freelance dialogue editing
Day 4 - 10am to 6pm
Morning: Studio 3 (Gerrit) Abominable Snow Baby (ASB) - preparation for final mix (Penteo Upmix)
Levels: -7db & 82 SPL - SA2 & Pro Limiter
Afternoon: Studio 1 ASB - Final Mix in Dolby Atmos
Director run-through & notes - Music dip under narration and Channel 4 Quality Control.
Changes in LFE and in dB levels
Day 5 - 10am to 4am
Whole day: Studio 3 (Gerrit) - Gassed Up dialogue edit (BBC 3)
Auto-Align on multiple vocal channels
Izotope de-noise
Bleeping swearing
Following guide mix (dipping music and narration)
Predominately removing vocal tracks to create space
Goodbyes, emails and numbers when I left.
